The reception began with a magnificent parade, reintroducing the bride and groom to guests as newlyweds. With musicians playing lively songs on the Darbuka and Zurna, it was clear to all that the celebration had only just begun! Everyone danced and sang, and the festivities were also live-streamed for loved ones to join-in from abroad. This unforgettable sequence added an extra layer of magic to the afternoon.
Reflecting on outfits, Chaïma's wedding dress was inspired by the works of Lebanese fashion designer, Elie Saab. The dress was an ivory-coloured ballgown with floral details laced throughout and it was a real compliment to the groom's classic tuxedo. All of the bridesmaids wore blush-coloured dresses that dazzled guests with reflective sequins stitched along the top and mid section.
A crucial part of the wedding day was the food. Guests were greeted with a selection of canapés including mini burgers and veggie pastries. Dinner featured North African cuisine with spicy grilled chicken on couscous. After the sumptuous feast, the evening transitioned to a heartwarming series of impromptu speeches where friends and family reminisced about cherished memories and expressed their hopes for the couple's future together. The speeches were a true testament to the love that filled the air.
The culinary delights that stole the spotlight were the desserts. Guests found themselves indulging in handmade macaroons, strawberry tartlets, and chocolate mousse. As for the wedding cake, Chaima's auntie prepared a stunning three-tier victoria sponge. The cake had a semi-naked design and consisted of honey pistachio, raspberries and vanilla buttercream.
